What we do for you
We constantly strive to improve services and provide exactly what our membership needs.
-
Educational Resources
We provide guidance for students on how to complete their program. Events that simplify the specific struggles of a Performance student are held throughout the year. Provided funding is sufficient we also have basic supplies and advocate for lower auxiliary costs - all three programs are exacting on mind and body without the added cost of school supplies.
-
Academic Advocacy
We bring common concerns to the administration, organize action and protect individual students on academic issues. We relay information on course and staff changes, and academic policy. We are constantly looking for student feedback - tell us how you really feel!
-
Equity
We take a dynamic approach to equity with the recognition that our diverse student body must inform our actions. We advocate for BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, disabled, international, and any students subject to discrimination on campus. The intersectionality of our work is centred in all of our campaigns; in economic advocacy where taking into account structural racism in our institutions is forefronted; in working in solidarity with communities most affected by unjust systems; and in centring accessibility concerns in our interactions with administration. We want to make Performance safe for all our students. We are committed to accessible education on all fronts. For more information on the Student Equity Association, stay tuned!
-
Negotiation
We are a mediator between the faculty, administration and student body. We provide the student voice to the Performance School and represent our issues to the administration.
-
Food Centres
We provide food centre resources through the TMSU to Performance students. We provide guidance on how to find free food on campus.
-
Headshots
We provide free, professional headshot events held twice a year.
